The importance of free data flows and interoperability for Europe’s economic prosperity

Siim Sikkut will open up the reasons why data flows – and accordingly – interoperability are so essential for Europe’s economic future. He will bring examples of the benefits as well as from barriers that currently exist along the way. He will handle the matter from both the public administration (digital public services) and private sector angle, arguing that in both cases we will miss out on great opportunities without making strong steps forward on European level. Siim will highlight what some of those steps could be, and focus on the part of governments in this game, arguing for their lead role and the need to get their act together. In his view, the building blocks for interoperability and data flows are very much part of the digital infrastructure we need to build.
